Shabbat
Shabbat in Birmingham is a beautiful event. Every week you can enjoy a wonderful four course Friday night meal for only £5! We often have themed Friday nights, and the first meal of the year typically attracts upwards of 200 students! We run our own Orthodox Kabbalat Shabbat just before our meal, and this too is very popular - with some beautiful (or not) singing by our students. It has quite a Carlebach influence and it's something that definitely has to be experienced.
On top of this, we introduced Saturday lunch meals about once per term this year, and they have been instantly popular and successful events. Birmingham offers a choice of Shabbat services, with several shuls and an old age home in the area.
