Dr. Ian Ellis

Date: Wednesday 14th January

Time: 7:15pm - 9:15pm

Location: Leonard Deacon Lecture Theatre Med School

An excellent speaker being brought in by JMEDUK for everyone, not just the medics! Here is a quick description of the Dr and what he will be talking about: Dr Ian Ellis is a renowned geneticist who established the national screening program to identify Tay-Sachs carriers in the Jewish community. We're very lucky to have coming to Birmingham to speak about Jews and their genes. The talk will take us on a journey from student elective to career choices in medicine. On the way we will talk about genes, evolution and selection ethics, Rabbis, marriage and families.
